Joshua Kimmich, initially known for his proficiency as a right-back for Bayern Munich, has transitioned to midfield, where he seeks to establish himself. Although his performances in the center of the pitch have left room for improvement, Kimmich may find himself returning to his former role as a right-back for upcoming matches.
Originally serving as the backup right-back when Noussair Mazraoui and now Sacha Boey are unavailable, the 26-year-old Austrian midfielder, Konrad Laimer, will now compete with Aleksandar Pavlović, Leon Goretzka, and occasionally Raphaël Guerreiro for midfield positions.
In a recent match against RB Leipzig, Kimmich was thrust back into the right-back position, where he contributed to Bayern’s 2-1 victory, courtesy of a Harry Kane brace.
