Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has spoken out following the announcement of head coach Thomas Tuchel’s departure from the Allianz Arena at the end of the season.
In light of Tuchel’s upcoming exit, Kane has called on his teammates to step up and deliver strong performances for the rest of the season. Despite leading Bayern to the German title last season, Tuchel has faced mounting pressure in his second year, with the team trailing behind Bayer Leverkusen in the title race.
After a hard-fought 2-1 win over RB Leipzig, Kane stressed the players’ responsibility to show dedication to the manager and the club. Reflecting on the decision to part ways with Tuchel, Kane acknowledged the need for improved performances on the pitch, emphasizing the importance of hard work and commitment.
Reports have emerged of a rift in the Bayern dressing room over Tuchel’s future, with some of the squad reportedly in favor of his departure. Kane, who was brought to the club by Tuchel last summer, was among those supporting the outgoing coach behind the scenes. Notable figures such as Eric Dier and club captain Manuel Neuer were also said to be in Tuchel’s corner.
However, other players, including Serge Gnabry, Leon Goretzka, Matthijs De Ligt, and Mathys Tel, were said to have reservations about Tuchel’s continued tenure. Goretzka, in particular, was reportedly puzzled by the initial decision to part ways with former coach Julian Nagelsmann.
