Slavko Vincic has been designated as the referee for the forthcoming Champions League fixture scheduled for Tuesday, featuring Lazio and Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.
UEFA has formally assigned the role of officiating to Slovenian referee Vincic for the Round of 16 second leg encounter between Lazio and Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.
Lazio secured a 1-0 victory over Bayern Munich in the first leg held at the Stadio Olimpico two weeks ago, courtesy of a penalty successfully converted by Italian international Ciro Immobile.
According to a report by Cittaceleste, Vincic has previously officiated three Lazio matches in his career, all held at the Stadio Olimpico. The 44-year-old oversaw the Biancocelesti’s 5-1 triumph over Steaua Bucarest in February 2018 and the subsequent season’s 1-0 defeat to Sevilla in Rome.
Vincic also presided over the Lazio-Atletico Madrid fixture in September 2023, during which Maurizio Sarri’s squad secured a late equalizer with goalkeeper Ivan Provedel.
Serie A clubs have recorded five victories, seven draws, and two defeats in the 14 matches officiated by Vincic.
This will be the second time in his career that the Slovenian official will oversee a Bayern Munich match, the first being a 1-1 draw against Villarreal at home in April 2022.
Tomaz Klancnik and Andraz Kovacic will serve as Vincic’s assistants for the Bayern Munich-Lazio fixture, with Matej Jug acting as the fourth official and Nejc Kajtazovic being responsible for the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) duties.
