Bayern Munich may be having second thoughts about Tottenham Hotspur’s Eric Dier loan, according to a report from Sport Bild.
Bayern Munich is reportedly reevaluating its decision to sign Eric Dier on loan from Tottenham Hotspur. Recent reports from Sport Bild (via ESPN) suggest that the English defender has not met expectations since his arrival in Germany. Despite his familiarity with coach Thomas Tuchel from their time in the Premier League, Dier, aged 30, has found it challenging to secure a regular spot in the starting lineup, having started only three Bundesliga matches.
These reports indicate that Bayern Munich’s recruitment department is already questioning the wisdom of approving the loan deal with Tottenham Hotspur at the beginning of last month.
Drawing such a conclusion at this point might seem premature. Eric Dier has showcased solidity during his appearances on the pitch, with some considering him Bayern Munich’s most reliable defender in the Ruckrunde thus far.
However, despite Dier’s contributions, reports suggest that Bayern Munich is unlikely to pursue a permanent deal for him. This decision would leave the 30-year-old without a club, as his contract with Spurs expires at the end of the season.
