Caglar Soyuncu faced initial challenges upon his arrival at Atletico Madrid from Leicester City last summer. Struggling to secure a spot in Diego Simeone’s squad, the Turkish defender was loaned out to Fenerbahce for the remainder of the season, where he has made a promising start.
Soyuncu is determined to contribute to Fenerbahce’s pursuit of the Super Lig title this season. Should they achieve success, he has hinted at the prospect of a permanent move to the Turkish giants, as reported by Diario AS.
“I have a contract with Atleti. The next 6 months are very important. If we achieve a happy end to the season, I think I’ll know where I’ll play next season. The coach gives me opportunities as a right centre-back, and I try to do the best I can.”
While Atletico Madrid may be open to a sale, they will likely require an acceptable offer. Additionally, the potential departures of Mario Hermoso and Stefan Savic this summer could necessitate the recruitment of multiple centre-backs during the transfer window.
