The revelation behind Barcelona’s center-back Ronald Araujo’s absence from the Uruguay national team for the March friendly matches has been disclosed.
As per Diario Sport, Araujo is in good health. Uruguay’s head coach Marcelo Bielsa opted to show support for Barcelona by not including Araujo in the squad.
Bielsa recognizes the crucial upcoming matches for the Catalan team and does not wish to jeopardize Araujo’s well-being in friendly games.
Barcelona has expressed deep gratitude for Bielsa’s considerate decision. Uruguay faced the unofficial FIFA team of the Basque Country on March 23 and is scheduled to play against Ivory Coast tomorrow. Currently, after six rounds, Uruguay holds the second position in the qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
