Tuttosport lauds Weston McKennie as ‘the king of assists’ at Juventus, highlighting his pivotal role in delivering two key passes to Dusan Vlahovic before sustaining a shoulder injury in a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Frosinone on Sunday.
During Juventus’ clash with Frosinone at the Allianz Stadium, McKennie unfortunately suffered a dislocated left shoulder. Nonetheless, his impactful contributions to Juventus’ success were evident, particularly in providing two assists for Vlahovic during the first half, aiding in the Bianconeri’s first win in five games.
Italian sports publications echoed praise for McKennie on Monday, assigning him top ratings among the Bianconeri players, second only to Vlahovic, who emerged as the leading goal scorer across Europe’s top five leagues in 2024.
Gazzetta, Corriere dello Sport, and Tuttosport all rated McKennie at 7/10, acknowledging his instrumental role on the field. Tuttosport specifically hailed the American midfielder as ‘the king of assists,’ noting his tally of five decisive passes this season.
In total, McKennie has contributed seven assists in 26 appearances across various competitions in the ongoing season. Despite his pivotal role in setting up goals, McKennie has yet to find the net himself in the 2023-24 campaign.
His contract with Juventus is set to expire in June 2025.
