Tottenham and Newcastle United will need to fork out more than £50million if they wish to secure the services of Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White in the upcoming transfer window.
According to senior transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke, Forest are adamant on receiving a fee exceeding the £48million that Spurs paid for Brennan Johnson.
Gibbs-White is among the players who could be offloaded by Forest this summer, as the 24-year-old is considered one of the club’s most valuable assets.
Despite Tottenham’s hopes of securing Gibbs-White for a lower fee than Johnson, Forest is standing firm on their asking price in order to make a substantial profit on what they initially paid to Wolves.
Earlier this month, Forest were penalized with a deduction of four points due to a violation of the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.
