In Friday’s Serie A encounter between Bologna and Hellas Verona at the Dall’Ara stadium, the match was temporarily halted for nearly 10 minutes due to an early injury sustained by the referee.
Rosario Abisso commenced officiating the match on Friday evening, but his involvement was abruptly cut short after just three minutes of gameplay. He suffered an injury and required immediate treatment from the medical staff stationed at the stadium.
Initially, there were attempts to allow Abisso to continue officiating, as his foot was attended to and strapped up. However, it soon became apparent that he would be unable to resume his duties on the field.
Fourth official Giacomo Camlone assumed the role of the referee, taking over the responsibilities. Abisso was relieved of his officiating gear and equipment, signaling the official change in command.
The match resumed with a scoreline of 0-0, albeit with a delay of 11 minutes on the clock. Within the initial 15 minutes of play, the ball was in motion for approximately six minutes.
