In accordance with a report from Tuttosport newspaper, the potential return of Joshua Zirkzee to Bayern Munich presents an opportunity for AC Milan to engage in a player-plus-cash transaction involving either Theo Hernandez or Mike Maignan.
Zirkzee has emerged as a primary target for Milan to bolster their attacking options in the upcoming summer transfer window. However, it is noted that Bologna’s valuation of the player exceeds €60 million. Notably, Bayern Munich stands as an exception, possessing a clause enabling them to reacquire the Dutch striker for €40 million at the culmination of the current season.
Tuttosport asserts that Milan stands to benefit from Zirkzee’s potential return to Germany, with Bayern expressing interest in acquiring either Maignan or Theo Hernandez.
Should Zirkzee return to Bayern, Milan may be inclined to negotiate the transfer of either Maignan or Theo Hernandez to Germany, accompanied by financial compensation, in exchange for the 22-year-old forward.
The report specifies that AC Milan has not established a specific valuation for their French assets. Nevertheless, it is improbable that they would entertain offers below the range of €80 million to €100 million for each player.
Both Theo Hernandez and Maignan are slated to enter discussions with Milan regarding contract extensions in the near future. As per Tuttosport, both players are expected to seek new contracts with an annual salary of €7 million, inclusive of potential bonuses.
