Chelsea have reportedly received news of a potential injury setback for the rest of the month. Throughout the season, the team has been plagued by injuries to various squad members, which Mauricio Pochettino has consistently addressed in his press conferences.
In their recent Premier League match against Everton on Monday, Chelsea were without three additional players: Axel Disasi, Enzo Fernandez, and Raheem Sterling.
However, their absence did not negatively affect Pochettino’s side, as they emerged as 6-0 winners over Everton at Stamford Bridge. Despite some issues surrounding an incident prior to the fifth goal, Chelsea’s performance level was ideal as they prepare for their FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City on Saturday evening.
It appears that one of the three players who were previously absent may be out of action for a longer period than expected. Canal Showsport has reported that Fernandez has been struggling with a hernia problem for months, which could require surgery.
Despite attempts with injections, the issue persists, potentially ruling him out for the remainder of the month. However, there is a possibility that he could still be fit to play against City at Wembley Stadium before making a final decision.
