La Gazzetta dello Sport has quoted the former Polish-born forward about his business experience.
Former forward of Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, and Arsenal, Lukas Podolski, has opened a famous kebab chain in Germany and shared that it brings in even higher profits than the contracts he signed during the peak of his career.
The 38-year-old forward is still on the roster of the Polish team Gornik Zabrze but is also pursuing a business venture. In 2018, he opened a kebab chain named Mangal Doener with a partner he met in Cologne and now owns 40 restaurants across Germany.
Podolski is thriving in business.
The 2014 World Cup champion had an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport on Sunday to share how he developed his business and his plans for the future.
“I live in Poland, but whenever I return to Germany, I always visit my restaurants. If you want to succeed in any field in life, you have to prioritize it. Sometimes I can help in the kitchen even when I’m usually busy with emails and calls. Managing a business takes a lot of time,” he said.
When asked whether his new business venture brings in more money than the contracts he signed during his career peak, Podolski replied: “Well, if we look at the numbers… Yeah, you could say that.”
