Federico Chiesa incurred an injury during today’s Juventus training session, necessitating his departure while limping after a challenging tackle from defender Alex Sandro. This development has raised concerns within the club.
The 26-year-old Italian winger has encountered ongoing fitness issues and minor injuries throughout the current season, resulting in only 15 starting appearances in Juventus’ 26 league matches. He has missed five games due to injury and has started only twice in the past two months.
Initially demonstrating promising form at the start of the season with four goals in Juventus’ first five matches, Chiesa’s goal-scoring output has since diminished, with only two additional goals scored. Recent reports have hinted at potential jeopardy regarding his inclusion in the Italy squad for the upcoming European Championship.
According to TMW, Chiesa suffered the painful challenge from Alex Sandro during today’s training session at Continassa, leaving him in discomfort on the ground. Following assessment by medical staff, he attempted to resume training but ultimately had to withdraw a few minutes later at the direction of Massimiliano Allegri, limping off the pitch. Notably, the ankle affected by this incident is the same one that had previously swelled following the Derby d’Italia defeat against Inter.
