Arsenal forward Mika Biereth’s impressive performance at Sturm Graz has prompted the Austrian club to consider a permanent deal this summer.
Biereth, who joined Sturm Graz on loan in January, has netted eight goals in just 11 matches.
Sturm Graz is eager to secure the 21-year-old’s services beyond this season, although they may face competition from other clubs.
With only one year remaining on his Arsenal contract, Biereth’s excellent displays have attracted interest from various European clubs.
Having been with Arsenal since 2021, Biereth was signed from Fulham.
During his time with Fulham Under-18s, Biereth was a prolific scorer, finding the net 21 times in as many appearances in his final season.
Despite struggling for playing time at Arsenal, Biereth is yet to make his senior debut for the Gunners.
Sturm Graz is Biereth’s third loan spell since joining Arsenal, having previously played for RKC Waalwijk in the Netherlands and Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership.
Although Biereth was initially at Motherwell this season, his loan was terminated early after Sturm Graz showed interest in signing him.
While Biereth enjoyed his time at Motherwell, the opportunity to feature in the Europa Conference League with Sturm Graz was too good to pass up.
Sturm Graz faced stiff competition, including from Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship, to secure Biereth’s signature.
