Numerous accounts have surfaced regarding the support or lack thereof for Bayern Munich’s coach, Thomas Tuchel, and the sentiments surrounding his impending departure in the summer. Tuchel himself singled out “Aleks” Pavlović as a player likely displeased by his exit, a sentiment Pavlović did little to refute.
In an interview with journalist Julian Buhl, as documented by @iMiaSanMia, Pavlović expressed his admiration for Tuchel’s coaching prowess, lamenting his departure and acknowledging the opportunities afforded to him under Tuchel’s guidance: “My personal opinion is that his work has always been good. Of course I’m sad about [his departure in the summer]. I’m very grateful to him for the chances he gave me and for everything I got from him.”
Notably, Pavlović also discussed the prospect of representing the German national team with Buhl. After being absent from Germany’s youth squads for several years, Pavlović earned a call-up to the U-20s in November following his contributions to Bayern Munich’s senior team. Speculation now suggests Pavlović may feature in Germany’s upcoming March international fixtures. While he asserted his lack of certainty regarding this possibility, he expressed eagerness to participate in the 2024 Euros: “Of course. That would be a dream for me. That would be very nice. It’s definitely a big extra motivation [to do well at Bayern].”
It’s worth noting Pavlović’s eligibility to represent Serbia. Should Germany opt not to include him, he remains a potential candidate for the Euros by pledging allegiance to Serbia. Consequently, Bayern’s latest emerging talent could prompt deliberation within the German national team setup under coach Julian Nagelsmann.
