Atalanta and Italy’s forward Gianluca Scamacca asserts that he has experienced personal growth under the tutelage of Gian Piero Gasperini. However, he maintains his stance that he would replicate his previous decisions in a match against Juventus.
Scamacca was fielded for the second consecutive time by Atalanta, this occasion during an away fixture in Serie A against Juventus. Despite his efforts, the former West Ham player failed to secure a goal. Notably, during the second half, he opted to attempt a shot from outside the penalty area instead of passing to his teammate Charles De Ketelaere.
During an interview with DAZN, Scamacca was queried about his decision-making in that instance, to which he promptly responded in the affirmative.
“I would probably do the same. A striker must shoot when he sees the goal,” he replied as quoted by Juventusnews24.com.
“Sometimes it enters the net. The fact is, when the mist descends and I put the ball on my right foot, I can see nothing else. If I had seen De Ketelaere, I would’ve passed it to him.”
