Daniele Rugani secured a dramatic last-minute victory for Juventus against Frosinone, but his agent has underscored that the decision regarding his future at the club rests with Juventus.
The central defender, given a rare opportunity in the absence of Danilo, capitalized on a flicked-on corner to deliver the decisive goal in the 3-2 triumph on Sunday.
Despite limited playing time this season, Rugani has made notable contributions, tallying three goals in just 14 appearances across Serie A and the Coppa Italia, predominantly featuring in the back three formation.
As Rugani’s current contract with Juventus expires on June 30, discussions surrounding a potential extension have yet to materialize. The agent remains uncertain about the club’s intentions regarding Rugani’s future and awaits communication regarding a possible contract renewal.
“Juve have always been very positive towards him. As far as we are concerned, we are totally open to a renewal and can reach an agreement,” agent Davide Torchia told TV Play.
“The question we need to ask now is: will the club call us?”
Rugani commenced his football journey at the Empoli youth academy before transferring to Juventus in 2012, where he has remained since, apart from several loan stints at Empoli, Stade Rennais, and Cagliari.
The defender, who will reach the age of 30 in July, has earned seven senior caps for the Italian national team.
