On 17/3, Al-Hilal achieved a remarkable feat in men’s soccer by setting a new world record for the most consecutive victories.
They secured their 29th consecutive win, surpassing the previous record held by The New Saints, a Welsh team, during the 2016/17 season.
Prior to that, Ajax, a renowned Dutch club, had held the record for an impressive 44 years with a 26-game winning streak between 1971 and 1972.
Al-Hilal’s winning streak began on September 25 and they have not lost a game since August 12. Their dominance in the Saudi Pro League this season is evident as they remain undefeated and sit comfortably at the top of the table, 12 points ahead of Al-Nassr.
It is worth noting that their success has been achieved without the presence of star player Neymar, who underwent significant knee surgery in November.
It is important to mention that the Guinness World Records recognizes Olympique Lyonnais Féminin as the team with the most consecutive wins in soccer, regardless of gender, with an impressive 41 consecutive victories across all competitions between 2012 and 2013.
