Man Utd is looking to capitalize on Mason Greenwood this summer as Fabrizio Romano discloses the Premier League club’s ultimate verdict on the striker.
The 22-year-old, currently on loan at La Liga’s Getafe, was accused of attempted rape and assault. However, the Crown Prosecution Service declared in February last year that the case had been dropped.
Man Utd co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe mentioned in February that a new judgment regarding Greenwood will be reached this summer following the transfer of football operations control to INEOS at Old Trafford.
Last year, there were reports indicating that Man Utd intended to keep him after an internal investigation, which sparked public outrage. Ratcliffe recognized that a decision would need to be made upon Greenwood’s return regarding the next steps, but emphasized earlier this year that no final decisions have been made yet.
Romano stated in his column on Caught Offside that Man Utd is ready to sell Greenwood this summer instead of loaning him out for another season. Man Utd is prioritizing a permanent transfer to generate profit for Financial Fair Play, but Getafe is still interested in keeping him on loan.
