Marcus Rashford has sold his severely damaged Rolls-Royce supercar following an accident in September.
In September, Rashford was involved in a harrowing accident with his £700,000 Rolls-Royce. Fortunately, both Rashford and the driver escaped injury in the collision, although the car collided with a traffic light pole and suffered severe damage.
Due to the extensive damage sustained in the accident, Rashford decided to auction off the car. Mat Armstrong, a YouTuber with 2.55 million subscribers, purchased the vehicle for £184,000. Upon receiving the car, Armstrong admitted to being shocked by its condition. The front part of the car was smashed, the rear wheel was almost falling off, and the windows were shattered.
Despite the extensive damage to the bodywork, the auction company stated that the car was still operational. However, Armstrong spent the entire afternoon with mechanics before managing to start the car once. In a video documenting the process of receiving and repairing the Rolls-Royce, Armstrong jokingly remarked, “There’s no way the auction company knew about this. The only person who knows if it starts is Rashford.”
Furthermore, this is a Mansory Black Badge, with Mansory parts being among the most expensive in the world. Just one Mansory logo on the exterior of the car costs a significant amount to replace. However, Armstrong has pledged to repair and restore the car.
His solution is to purchase a used Rolls Royce and use it for spare parts. The cheapest car costs around £90,000. A video introducing the project was uploaded yesterday, and there will be multiple parts to restore the car. Armstrong also mentioned that he will auction off the left door of the Rolls, with signatures from himself and Rashford. All proceeds will be donated to the charity FareShare, an organization strongly supported by the Manchester United forward.
