Luis Enrique, the head coach of Paris Saint-Germain, has expressed his frustration with the repetitive and “boring” questions regarding his controversial decisions regarding Kylian Mbappe.
Ever since Mbappe informed the French champions about his departure from the club at the end of the season, he has been subjected to numerous early substitutions by Enrique.
Previously, PSG’s all-time leading goal scorer had not missed a single minute of Ligue 1 football from September 30 to February 2, playing the full 90 minutes in 14 consecutive matches. However, in PSG’s last seven top-flight games, he has only completed the entire match once.
During that one full 90-minute appearance, Mbappe scored a hat-trick in a dominant 6-2 victory over Montpellier HSC before the international break. He also wore the captain’s armband in Sunday’s clash against Marseille in Le Classique but was substituted just after the 60-minute mark.
It was evident that the 25-year-old was displeased to see his number being displayed on the substitution board once again. Enrique has previously stated that PSG needs to adapt to playing without Mbappe, implying that the player’s decision to leave the club is a significant factor in his early withdrawals.
