Ousmane Dembélé made the decision to leave FC Barcelona last summer and has seamlessly integrated himself into Paris Saint-Germain under the guidance of manager Luis Enrique.
Although the Frenchman may not be finding the back of the net as frequently, he has assumed the role of creator that was left vacant following the departures of Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr.
After enduring health challenges during his time at Barcelona, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has managed to stay injury-free thus far in the season. PSG midfielder Fabian Ruiz recently spoke to the media and highlighted how Dembélé has effortlessly adapted to his new team.
“Since Ous joined us, he has become a vital player for our squad,” Ruiz stated (h/t Paris Fans). “He brings a distinct element to the team. We are well aware of his exceptional skills; his speed and ambidexterity make him stand out, and for us, he is an indispensable player.
“On a personal level, I have a great rapport with him. He sits beside me in the locker room, and he is a composed and grounded individual. We are delighted to have him with us because he contributes significantly to our success.”
Dembélé will have an opportunity to make his former team regret their decision when PSG and Barcelona face off in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals. The winger can play a crucial role in helping PSG secure a spot in the semifinals. While Kylian Mbappé is undoubtedly a player that Barcelona must contain, they must not overlook Dembélé’s ability to create scoring opportunities for his teammates, as he has demonstrated throughout this season.
