Earlier this month, there were rumors that Paris Saint-Germain was among the teams interested in Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting Lisbon.
The Swedish striker has been having an exceptional season for the Portuguese club, catching the attention of several other clubs. In 39 appearances, the 25-year-old has scored an impressive 36 goals and provided 14 assists.
According to the Portuguese publication Record (as cited by Sky Sports), one Premier League club is taking a proactive approach to outshine the competition.
The Blues have reportedly scouted Gyökeres three times in the past three months, with the most recent occasion being on Thursday when Sweden faced Portugal in a friendly match. Despite Sweden’s 5-2 defeat, Gyökeres managed to find the back of the net.
Chelsea faces tough competition from Arsenal, AC Milan, and PSG in their pursuit of Gyökeres. These clubs have all been linked to the Swedish goal scorer in various rumors.
It is worth noting that Gyökeres has a release clause of €100 million, which raises the question of whether Sporting will set their asking price at that figure or leave room for negotiation.
