Paris Saint-Germain has expressed a strong desire to acquire Bruno Guimaraes, making him their top priority.
However, Newcastle United is facing a challenging task in retaining the talented Brazilian midfielder. In order to comply with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules (PSR), Newcastle is expected to sell a key player at the end of the season.
While there has been significant speculation surrounding the future of Alexander Isak, who has been heavily linked with Arsenal, the Swedish player has reassured that he is content at St James’ Park.
Although Guimaraes holds great importance for Newcastle, he is considered to be more replaceable than Isak. With a release clause of £100 million, receiving the full fee in a single payment would greatly benefit Newcastle in terms of PSR.
Although parting ways with the former Lyon star will be difficult, it is likely to have long-term benefits for Newcastle. A transfer back to France would be more favorable for the club than offloading him to a rival in the Premier League.
