According to reports from Sky Sport Italia, sources closely associated with Paul Pogba have indicated that the midfielder intends to contest a four-year suspension via the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne.
On Thursday, the Italian anti-doping tribunal officially imposed a four-year ban on Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba. This verdict follows Pogba’s failed doping test on August 20, 2023, subsequent to an away Serie A fixture against Udinese, during which he remained benched for the entirety of the match.
In response to the tribunal’s decision, Juventus has opted not to provide a statement, while Paul Pogba has chosen to pursue an appeal through the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne.
This course of action has been confirmed by sources affiliated with the player, as reported by Sky Sport Italia journalist Lorenzo Fontani.
Fontani underscores a precedent where Atalanta defender José Luis Palomino successfully appealed a doping ban in 2022 before the Court of Arbitration for Sport, demonstrating that the consumption of a prohibited substance was unintentional.
Paul Pogba rejoined Juventus on a complimentary transfer from Manchester United in 2022; however, his second tenure at the club has been limited to merely 12 appearances in Serie A matches.
