Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta stated that both Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka will undergo assessments before the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Bayern Munich.
Odegaard was substituted in the match against Aston Villa, while Saka was seen limping towards the end of the game. Arteta mentioned that they will evaluate their conditions and make decisions accordingly.
Arsenal and Bayern Munich drew 2-2 in the first leg, and the Gunners are aiming to reach the semi-finals after 15 years. Bayern, on the other hand, last reached the semis in 2020 when they won the tournament. Arteta emphasized the importance of a strong performance to secure a spot in the semi-final.
Odegaard and Saka are both uncertain for selection, with defender Jurrien Timber facing a prolonged absence due to a knee injury for Arsenal.
On the other hand, Bayern will be without defender Alphonso Davies, who is serving a suspension following his third booking in this season’s competition.
Meanwhile, wingers Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sane, and Kingsley Coman are expected to miss out due to various minor injuries.
