According to Ekrem Konur, a club in the Saudi Pro League is preparing a €50 million offer for Liverpool’s captain and center-back, Virgil van Dijk. The proposal is expected to be formally submitted when the transfer window opens this summer. Despite Van Dijk having only one year left on his contract with Liverpool, the club reportedly aims to initiate negotiations to extend his tenure at Anfield beyond 2025.
Van Dijk recently celebrated lifting his first trophy as Liverpool captain, scoring the decisive goal in their 1-0 victory over Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley. This success adds to his illustrious career at the club.
It’s worth noting that clubs in Saudi Arabia have previously shown interest in Liverpool’s star players, with Mohamed Salah being a previous target for Al-Ittihad, though their approach was rebuffed last summer.
