Lazio has formally announced the extension of goalkeeper Ivan Provedel’s contract with the club, extending his tenure until the summer of 2027.
Arriving from Spezia in the summer of 2022, the 29-year-old goalkeeper has left a significant mark with his remarkable performances for the Biancocelesti.
In his debut season during the 2022-23 campaign, Provedel emerged as the leading shot-stopper in Serie A, securing the highest number of clean sheets. His contributions were instrumental in propelling Lazio to a commendable second-place finish in the league, earning him recognition as the Serie A MVP Goalkeeper.
Provedel garnered international attention early in the 2023-24 season with his dramatic 95th-minute equalizer from a corner against Atletico Madrid in Lazio’s Champions League opener in September.
While Provedel had previously committed to a long-term contract upon his transfer to Lazio, extending until 2027, the new agreement is reported to include revisions in salary and other contractual terms.
Sources suggest that Provedel’s annual earnings, previously estimated at approximately €1.2 million, are likely to have undergone adjustments with his latest contract renewal.
