Juventus reportedly reached a preliminary agreement with Bologna coach Thiago Motta, as per Calciomercato.com. The Italian outlet states that Motta is the leading, and possibly sole, candidate to succeed Massimiliano Allegri next season at Juventus.
The Livorno-born coach has one year remaining on his contract at the Allianz Stadium, but Allegri is expected to depart at the conclusion of the current season.
While specifics of the alleged agreement between Juventus and Motta remain undisclosed, Calciomercato asserts that the two parties have already come to terms.
Motta’s contract with Bologna will expire at the end of the season, and the former Italy international has declined to commit to a long-term future with the club. Bologna currently occupies the fourth position in the Serie A standings, trailing Juventus by two points.
The two clubs are scheduled to face each other in the penultimate Serie A fixture at the Stadio Dall’Ara. Additionally, Motta has been linked with the managerial position at Manchester United.
