Juventus Football Director Cristiano Giuntoli is reportedly expressing interest in reuniting with Paris Saint-Germain star Fabian Ruiz. Giuntoli was instrumental in bringing Ruiz to Napoli in 2018, where the midfielder established himself as a key player before making a move to PSG in the summer of 2022. However, despite his transfer to the French capital, Ruiz has yet to secure a starting position within the team.
According to reports from Tuttosport (via IlBianconero), while Ruiz is considered an important asset for PSG, he has not solidified himself as a cornerstone player. Additionally, there are concerns that his standing within the club may further diminish if his compatriot, Luis Enrique, were to vacate his managerial position at the end of the season.
In light of these circumstances, it is suggested that signing the 27-year-old midfielder could become a tangible prospect for Juventus, particularly considering Giuntoli’s keenness for a reunion with his former protege. Juventus may explore the possibility of securing an initial loan deal for Ruiz, whose contract with PSG extends until 2027.
Despite Ruiz’s current annual salary of 5 million euros, which is not inconsequential by Juventus standards, it may not be prohibitive enough to prevent a potential agreement between the player and the club. This season, Ruiz has made 25 appearances across various competitions for PSG, contributing one goal and three assists. Known for his versatility, he is capable of playing as a deep-lying playmaker or in a more advanced midfield role.
