Juventus is reportedly considering making a summer bid for Mason Greenwood, who is expected to depart Manchester United permanently in the upcoming transfer window.
The English forward, who was loaned to Getafe last summer after being informed of his lack of future at Old Trafford, has been in impressive form in La Liga, scoring eight goals and providing five assists in 28 appearances during the 2023-24 season.
Despite the activation of a one-year contract extension taking him until June 2026, Greenwood is set to return to Man United this summer.
While there is a possibility of him rejoining the first team at Old Trafford, it is widely believed that he will secure a permanent move away, with Atletico Madrid showing the strongest interest from Spain.
Barcelona has also been linked with an interest in Greenwood, but it is understood that the Catalan team is not currently considering making a move for the forward.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus has included Greenwood in their shortlist as they solidify their plans for the upcoming transfer window this summer.
The report suggests that the Turin-based club intends to acquire four or five new players in order to prepare for a potential return to the Champions League. Currently sitting in third place in the Serie A table, Juventus holds a seven-point lead over Roma, who are in fifth place.
In early 2022, Greenwood faced allegations of rape and assault from a woman, resulting in his arrest. Subsequently, he was further arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and making threats to kill.
The Man United academy product faced charges of attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behavior, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, but the case against him was dropped last February, allowing him to resume his career this season.
The Red Devils initially planned to include Greenwood in their squad for the 2023-24 campaign but later changed their decision due to public reaction.
In his first season back, Greenwood has recorded six goals and five assists in 25 La Liga matches, along with two goals in three Copa del Rey appearances earlier this term.
Before his arrest, the forward was considered one of the best young talents in world football, and he earned his only cap for England against Iceland in 2020.
Greenwood has scored 35 goals and provided 12 assists in 129 appearances for Man United, including 22 goals and four assists in 83 Premier League outings.
