Italy and Arsenal midfielder Jorginho initially dismissed inquiries about a potential proposal to his partner with a straightforward “No,” only to surprise her with a proposal later in the same year.
Jorginho and his fiancée, Cat Harding, are among the couples featured on “Married to the Game,” a Prime Video series that delves into the lives of footballers and their partners. Other participants include James Tarkowski, Ilkay Gundogan, Riyad Mahrez, and Jorginho’s former Arsenal teammate Matt Turner, along with their respective partners.
Harding, a former contestant on “The Voice UK,” has been engaged to the 32-year-old Jorginho since late 2023. However, during one episode of the show, her inquiries about a potential proposal were met with a direct response.
In a clip shared on Prime Video’s social media platforms, the couple is seen preparing to go out. As Harding debates whether to wear a ring on her finger, she jokingly asks Jorginho if he plans to propose. Without hesitation, Jorginho responds with a simple “No.”
Following his response, Harding decides to wear a different ring and playfully remarks about her ring finger remaining unoccupied. Jorginho joins in the banter, suggesting that her ring finger will indeed stay free “today.”
Despite Jorginho’s initial response, he later surprised Harding with a proposal later in the year. The couple is set to tie the knot in the summer of 2025, outside the football season and away from international tournaments.
Since joining Arsenal from Chelsea in January 2023, Jorginho has been enjoying his time in North London. He scored his first goal for the Gunners in this season’s Champions League group stage. While his contract expires this summer, there is an option to extend it by a further year.
Reflecting on his time at Arsenal, Jorginho expressed his focus on enjoying the present moment and winning games with the club. He emphasized the importance of striving for success in the Premier League, highlighting the team’s collective effort and determination to achieve their goals.
