According to reports from Italy, Newcastle United has expressed interest in Juventus talent Dean Huijsen ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
The 18-year-old player has spent the 2023/24 season on loan with Roma and is set to return to Juventus in the following months. His notable performances during this loan spell have garnered attention, earning him praise and admiration among football enthusiasts.
Tutto Juve has reported that both Newcastle United and Manchester United are interested in signing the young defender. Additionally, ASRomaLive.it has suggested that Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United remains actively involved in negotiations for Huijsen’s signature. This interest stems from Newcastle’s desire to bolster their defensive lineup, particularly in light of Sven Botman’s ACL injury.
Standing at 6 feet 5 inches, Huijsen is a ball-playing centre-back who has contributed two goals and an assist in 12 Serie A appearances for Roma this season. Despite being born in the Netherlands, he is also eligible to represent Spain and has recently received a call-up to their U21 squad. His versatility, having previously played as a holding midfielder, aligns with the club’s current transfer strategy, highlighting his potential to seamlessly integrate into the team.
