Manchester United forward Anthony Martial is rumored to have been presented to Inter Milan as he gets ready to depart from Old Trafford in the upcoming summer.
The French striker, aged 28, has been sidelined due to injury since the beginning of December, and his contract with United is set to expire at the end of June.
Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Inter, the current leaders of Serie A, have been given the opportunity to acquire Martial at no cost.
Despite this, Inter is not prioritizing him as their main striker target. Martial’s history of injuries has been a significant concern, hindering him from reaching his full potential at United.
On the other hand, Gudmundsson, aged 26, has scored 13 goals this season but is under contract with Genoa until 2027, making him an expensive option for Inter.
United initially signed Martial from Monaco in 2015 for a fee that could have risen to £58 million with additional payments. Although he scored 17 goals in his first season, Martial has struggled with inconsistency and injuries since then.
His most successful season at United was in 2019-20 when he scored 23 goals under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but he has since failed to maintain that level of performance. Martial has also been linked with clubs in Turkey and France as he aims to revive his career in the upcoming season.
