According to a report by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter Milan has entered the fray to secure the services of Albert Gudmundsson, a standout player for Genoa. However, they face competition from both Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur, who have also expressed interest in the player.
Inter Milan has already finalized a deal to acquire Mehdi Taremi on a free transfer in June. Nevertheless, as per Gazzetta’s report, the Serie A outfit is keen on bolstering its attacking options further.
The publication asserts that Inter Milan has not merely expressed interest but has initiated discussions to secure the 26-year-old’s signature in the upcoming summer transfer window.
It is reported that Inter Milan aims to structure a deal akin to the one utilized to secure Davide Frattesi from Sassuolo last summer, which involved a loan arrangement with an obligation to purchase.
However, they face stiff competition from Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur, both of whom have made inquiries regarding the versatile striker. Genoa is reportedly demanding a fee of at least €30 million for Gudmundsson’s services, according to Gazzetta.
Tottenham Hotspur recently secured Gudmundsson’s former teammate Radu Dragusin during the January transfer window for a fee of €31 million, including add-ons.
Gudmundsson has been Genoa’s leading goal scorer this season, having netted 12 goals in 29 appearances across all competitions.
