Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the former Manchester United manager, has reportedly approached Ajax with an offer to manage their team, signaling his readiness to return to the coaching scene.
Since his departure from Manchester United in November 2021 following a series of disappointing performances, Solskjaer has been considering his options. During his tenure at United, he managed 149 matches as the permanent manager and an additional 19 as the interim manager after Mourinho’s exit.
Solskjaer’s initial season in full command saw United secure a commendable second-place in the Premier League. However, his journey with the club ended after a significant defeat by Watford.
Speaking on The Stick to Football podcast, Solskjaer revealed he’s received several job proposals but is holding out for the right fit where he can lead on his terms, drawing from his experiences at United.
The Pantelic Podcast disclosed that Solskjaer’s candidacy for the Ajax managerial position has been proposed, though it remains uncertain if Ajax will pursue his services.
Ajax, currently facing challenges in the Eredivisie and positioned fifth, 29 points behind leaders PSV, is reportedly in search of a new manager. There’s also speculation about Erik ten Hag’s potential return if his current role at United ends, as reported by The Peoples Person. Ten Hag’s future at United is under scrutiny due to fluctuating team performance.
