Liverpool will square off against their fierce rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
Manchester United secured their spot in the final eight with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, while Liverpool’s youthful side cruised to a 3-0 win over Southampton.
All four quarter-final matches are scheduled to take place over the weekend of March 16 and 17.
Championship leaders Leicester City will face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, with Conor Gallagher’s late goal securing a 3-2 win for the Blues over Leeds.
Coventry City, another Championship side, will travel to Molineux to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers after Wolves defeated Brighton in their previous fixture.
Defending champions Manchester City are set to clash against Newcastle United in another exciting quarter-final matchup.
The progress of Manchester United and Liverpool in the FA Cup means that their upcoming Premier League fixtures will be rescheduled.
For Manchester United, their match against Sheffield United at Old Trafford, originally scheduled for Saturday, March 16, will be postponed to a later date. Similarly, Liverpool’s Merseyside derby clash away at Everton will also be rescheduled due to their FA Cup commitments.
While Manchester United have only two games between now and then, Liverpool face a busier schedule with Premier League matches against Nottingham Forest and Manchester City, along with both legs of their Europa League round-of-16 tie against Sparta Prague.
