Everton faces potential third points deduction following the release of their most recent club accounts.
Transfer reporter Pete O’Rourke disclosed that the Toffees might incur another penalty after disclosing losses exceeding £89 million in their latest financial statements.
The club’s accounts for the 2022-23 season, unveiled on Sunday (31 March), displayed a total turnover of £172.2 million.
Despite this, Sean Dyche’s team reported a loss of £89.1 million, adding to previous losses of £45 million in 2021-22 and £121 million in 2020-21.
Everton’s cumulative losses now amount to a staggering £330.6 million, primarily due to ongoing construction of their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.
In November, the Merseyside club received a significant 10-point deduction for breaching profit and sustainability regulations, later reduced to six points in February.
This penalty was imposed as Everton exceeded their permissible losses by £19.5 million. Currently, they are undergoing a second hearing that could lead to further sanctions, potentially marking their second deduction of the season.
