Erling Haaland has expressed his satisfaction at Manchester City amid interest from other major European clubs, including Real Madrid. In his initial Champions League press conference as a City player, Haaland highlighted his commitment to the team and his ambition to win more trophies in his second season.
Despite speculation about his future, Haaland is focused on his performance on the field rather than on contract discussions. He has not made any definitive statements about his long-term plans but has conveyed his joy in being part of Manchester City and the excitement of winning titles with them.
“I’m 23 and I won everything and I got a taste of it how it is to win and how I work is that when I feel this I want to win it again. Easy as that,” said Haaland, via Manchester Evening News.
“I’m really happy, especially with the people that I’m surrounded by. The manager, the directors, the board are a group of amazing people and I’m really happy. If I say this now, it is probably going to be a massive headline…tomorrow you never know what the future brings but I’m happy and you can write this but you also have to write everything I said right before.
“My focus mainly now is on the pitch. There are a lot of games. Two days ago there was the Manchester derby, now it is the Champions League and then on Sunday on Liverpool. I think I should focus on that, I don’t think I should focus on anything else at the moment“.
Haaland’s contract, which runs until 2027, had a clause allowing for a £150 million departure at the end of his second season, as reported by The Athletic. Although the 23-year-old striker is open to the possibility of a future transfer, he currently remains a dedicated player for Manchester City.
