Enzo Fernandez, the 23-year-old Argentine international, will be unable to participate in the remaining six Premier League matches of the 2023-24 season due to a successful surgery he underwent for a groin issue.
However, he has set his sights on making a comeback in time for the Copa America, which commences on 20 June.
Fernandez’s transfer to Chelsea from Benfica for a record-breaking £107m fee during the 2023 winter transfer window followed his recognition as the young player of the tournament in his country’s victorious 2022 World Cup campaign.
Despite the challenges faced by the club this season, Fernandez has managed to make 40 appearances for the Blues, scoring seven goals.
