The urgent execution of an arrest warrant for suspects threatening the family of former Manchester United star, Angel Di Maria, has been carried out by Argentine police. Angel Di Maria, who renewed his contract with Benfica last summer, has made 137 appearances and scored 29 goals for the Argentine national team. Despite being a hometown hero in Argentina, the Messi family now finds themselves the target of a horrifying threat.
According to Clarin, a piece of paper was thrown into one of the entrances of the Miraflores residential area, where Di Maria’s parents reside. The note, allegedly thrown from a gray car at 2:30 am, reads: “Tell your son Angel not to return to Rosario, because if he does, we will kill him immediately. Not even Pullaro can save Di Maria.” It is noteworthy that “Pullaro” refers to Maximiliano Pullaro, the Governor of Santa Fe Province. Before fleeing, the assailants also fired four warning shots seemingly to assert dominance.
The chilling content of the note prompted swift police intervention and forensic investigation at the scene. “This is beyond the imagination of every member of the Di Maria family. Therefore, it has caused psychological shock to the Di Maria family,” a close source from Real Madrid’s former player shared with Clarin.
Most recently, the arrest warrant for the suspects threatening the Di Maria family has been promptly executed by Argentine police. The two specific suspects apprehended are Ezequiel A. and a woman named Tamara. Both are accused of illegal possession of weapons and drugs, specifically 135 grams of cocaine. The vehicle they used has been identified based on surveillance camera footage. According to Argentine police representatives, they are currently interrogating Ezequiel and Tamara to determine the motive behind the life-threatening threat against the family of former Manchester United star, Angel Di Maria.
