Dominic Solanke is making a strong case for being selected for the England national team, showcasing his impressive goal-scoring abilities once again for Bournemouth on Saturday.
The talented striker, who previously played for Chelsea and Liverpool, scored his 16th goal of the season in the Premier League as the Cherries secured a 2-1 victory against Everton at home.
Solanke opened the scoring in the 64th minute with a well-executed header, only to have his efforts nullified by Beto’s late equalizer.
However, Bournemouth persevered and ultimately clinched all three points when Seamus Coleman inadvertently directed the ball into his own net during injury time.
Bournemouth now sits comfortably on 38 points after 29 matches, completely removed from any discussions about relegation. In the meantime, their exceptional striker remains eager to score more goals.
There has been an ongoing debate regarding who should serve as the backup to Harry Kane in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2024: Ollie Watkins or Ivan Toney. Watkins has managed to net the same number of goals as Aston Villa this season, whereas Toney has scored four goals in a mere 11 games.
