Chelsea have reportedly submitted a bid for Barcelona left-back Alejandro Balde, as they search for a new player in that position.
The club is not entirely satisfied with the performances of Marc Cucurella and Ben Chilwell this season under manager Mauricio Pochettino.
According to reports from Spain, Chelsea is hoping to secure the signing of Balde, who is attracting interest from several clubs including Manchester United, Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea themselves.
However, it appears that Chelsea has acted swiftly in their pursuit of the Spanish international, with a bid of €50m (£43m) already made.
Barcelona views Balde as one of the biggest disappointments of the season and is considering the possibility of transferring him.
Chelsea manager Pochettino is known to be an admirer of Balde, and the club’s co-owner, Todd Boehly, will attempt to negotiate a deal with Barcelona’s sporting director Deco and president Joan Laporta.
It is expected that Chelsea may need to increase their offer to around €70m, as Nacional believes that their initial bid will be rejected. Additionally, Chelsea is also interested in signing a new center-back, with Lille defender Leny Yoro being monitored by the club.
