Chelsea is aiming to raise £100 million through the sale of players. The club is looking to offload Reece James and Conor Gallagher in order to improve their Financial Fair Play situation.
The Blues are hoping to exceed the £100 million mark, with James alone valued at £60 million.
Chelsea’s significant spending since the 2022 takeover has put them at risk of breaching the Premier League’s financial rules, prompting the decision to sell homegrown talents.
By selling James and Gallagher before June 30, the club can count the full transfer fees as profit in their upcoming accounts. Chelsea is determined to avoid exceeding the league’s £105 million limit on losses over a three-year period by generating additional revenue.
James, who has been a key player for the team, is reportedly targeted for a £60 million transfer fee. Gallagher, on the other hand, has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs and could leave as a free agent in 2025 if a new deal is not reached.
