Carlos Tevez experienced chest pains and was taken to a hospital in Argentina. Independiente, where he serves as head coach, confirmed the news in a statement.
The club mentioned that Tevez underwent tests at La Trinidad Hospital in San Isidro, which yielded satisfactory results.
Further examinations are scheduled as part of a routine check-up. As a precautionary measure, Tevez will remain hospitalized until all tests are concluded.
In August 2023, Tevez assumed the role of Independiente’s head coach and later in December, he prolonged his contract until 2026. This decision came after he successfully transformed the team from being relegation contenders in the previous season to becoming contenders for trophies.
At present, the club holds the sixth position in the Argentine Primera Division.
During his time in the Premier League, Tevez showcased his skills in 201 matches, managing to score an impressive 84 goals. He represented West Ham, Manchester United, and Manchester City throughout his career.
Before making the switch to the blue side of Manchester, Tevez achieved remarkable success at United, winning two Premier League titles and the prestigious Champions League.
