Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti recently acknowledged that there is a notable resemblance between Jude Bellingham and Kaka, the iconic figure from AC Milan, albeit with a distinction in the evolution of the attacking midfield role. Ancelotti’s remarks were made in an interview with Sky Sport Italia preceding the Champions League encounter scheduled tonight between Real Madrid and RB Leipzig at the Estadio Bernabeu.
Bellingham’s inaugural season under Ancelotti has been marked by an impressive performance in the Spanish capital, marked by 20 goals and eight assists across 30 appearances in various competitions. Ancelotti has drawn parallels between the England international and the renowned Kaka, recognizing similarities in their playing styles and attributes.
“Yeah, they are similar. I think there isn’t much difference,” the Italian tactician admitted.
Upon Kaka’s arrival in Milan in 2003, Ancelotti declared that the Rossoneri had secured the services of the ‘player of the future’. Can he still assert the same sentiment at present?
“I think the game has changed since Kaka and also the characteristics of footballers playing in that position,” the coach replied.
“Attacking midfielders are physically more powerful than 20 years ago when those players had more talent than power. In modern football, these players have evolved.”
Kaka achieved an impressive tally of 104 goals in 307 appearances for the Rossoneri, securing notable triumphs including a Serie A title, a Champions League trophy, and a Ballon d’Or accolade. Notably, he contributed 95 goals in 270 matches during his tenure under Ancelotti’s management at San Siro. The retired Brazilian footballer concluded his professional career in 2017, leaving behind a legacy of remarkable achievements.
