The United States Men’s National Team clinched their third Concacaf Nations League title, securing back-to-back championships and handing Mexico’s Men’s National Team a decisive 2-0 defeat on the field.
The Stars and Stripes once again demonstrated the effectiveness of their strategy to develop players by training them in top European leagues, as evidenced by their latest triumph over Mexico, which raised more questions than answers.
During the celebrations for the Concacaf Nations League tri-championship, captain Christian Pulisic taunted the Mexican team following their defeat, a result that will haunt Jaime Lozano’s squad.
Tyler Adams, the scorer of the opening goal against Mexico, also expressed his joy at securing another title for U.S. soccer.
“This type of goal doesn’t come around often for me, so I’m thrilled to have scored one like that today,” Adams shared with ESPN. “I always step up in big matches,” added the Bournemouth player from the English Premier League.
With this victory, the United States claims their third Nations League title and extends their undefeated streak against Mexico, their primary rival in CONCACAF, to seven matches.
Mexico’s last victory over the Americans dates back to 2019, when, under Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino, “El Tri” narrowly defeated the U.S. in the Gold Cup final.
