Cagliari striker Leonardo Pavoletti endured a setback during the team’s recent 1-1 draw with Napoli, as he sustained a fractured metatarsal in his foot. The injury occurred shortly after Pavoletti came on as a substitute in the second half, forcing him to exit the pitch after just 16 minutes.
An update from the Sardinian club confirmed the severity of the injury, specifying that Pavoletti has fractured the fourth metatarsal in his right foot. However, the injury does not necessitate surgical intervention and can be managed through conservative treatment.
Pavoletti, aged 35, played a significant role in Cagliari’s promotion from Serie B last season. In the current Serie A campaign, he has contributed four goals and an assist in 19 matches.
