Lee Bell has lauded the performance of Lewis Leigh following the latter’s full debut for Crewe Alexandra over the weekend.
The 20-year-old, who arrived on loan from Preston in January, previously made substitute appearances in League Two matches. However, he was handed a starting position in the recent 1-1 draw against AFC Wimbledon, where his combative and energetic display drew attention.
Manager Bell expressed his satisfaction with Leigh’s performance, highlighting his excellent attitude, integration into the team dynamic, and exceptional performance in training. Bell emphasized Leigh’s maturity and positive influence on his teammates, noting the technical skills that complement his attitude.
Leigh, who has now made 10 appearances for Crewe Alexandra, aims to maintain his position in the upcoming match against Gillingham on Good Friday. Reflecting on his performance, Leigh expressed contentment, stating his readiness when called upon and his determination to contribute to the team’s pursuit of automatic promotion.
Leigh also conveyed his eagerness to showcase his abilities to the fans and emphasized the importance of continued effort and dedication to achieving the team’s goals.
