Kristjan Asllani acknowledges that Inter experienced some ‘fatigue’ during their hard-fought 2-1 victory over Genoa and shares his sentiments upon scoring his inaugural goal for the club.
The Nerazzurri have maintained an impeccable record in 2024, triumphing in all 12 of their matches across Serie A, the Supercoppa Italiana, and the Champions League.
Asllani registered his premier Serie A goal in the Inter jersey, breaking the deadlock following a strong start from Genoa. Subsequently, Alexis Sanchez converted a contentious penalty.
Despite Genoa’s retaliation with a Johan Vasquez volley from the perimeter of the area, and a disallowed equalizer for Vitinha due to offside, Inter secured the victory.
This triumph propels them to 72 points, matching the total amassed by Inter throughout the entirety of the previous season.
“This is a very important victory, as Genoa came here with a lot of points behind them, they play good football and we conceded an avoidable goal, but we did well to suffer together as a team,” Asllani told Sky Sport Italia.
“There was a little fatigue in the second half, but these three points are fundamental, as we wanted to extend our lead a little more.”
